Meet Our Directors

The directors of Literacy Outreach for Madison County seek to match adult learners with strong tutors who can assist learners in achieving their literacy goals. 

Tara Truett, Director of LOMCNY

TARA TRUETT

Director

Tara Truett has been the Director of the program for twelve years. She is in charge of the day to day operations, as well as grant writing, tutor training, and maintaining resources for the various sites. Tara is a retired teacher and school administrator who believes that reaching each individual learner at their level is the key to this unique 1:1 tutoring program in Madison County.

Carla Zimmerman, Literacy Coordinator of LOMCNY

CARLA ZIMMERMAN

Literacy Coordinator

Carla Zimmerman is the Literacy Coordinator who covers Cazenovia Public Library and New Woodstock Free Library. Her approach to tutoring is student-centered. Carla develops a lesson plan that works for the learner. Carla is TESOL certified.

Donna Bocketti Schaefer, Literacy Coordinator of LOMCNY

DONNA BOCKETTI SCHAEFER

Literacy Coordinator

Donna Bocketti has been a Literacy Coordinator for LOMCNY for many years. Her clients admire her ability to motivate and reach them where they are. Donna’s expertise and experience in Special Education is vital to the success of the program, as is her smiling personality.
